A little bit about me…
Welcome to www.BarbaraAtkinson.com, my personal blog. I was born, raised, and raised my children in Northern Virginia. I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2006 where I still reside.
I have a vast array of interests that include domestic engineering (makes cooking, sewing, canning, knitting, quilting, etc. sound sophisticated), psychology, medicine, philosophy, mixed martial arts, history, religious studies, and scuba diving. If nothing else, at the end of the day, I strive to have lived with passion. A passion for doing what is right over what is easy. A passion for continuous personal improvement. A passion for making a difference, even if it is small.
Self-reflection is critical to personal growth. One of my favorite books for personal contemplation is As A Man Thinketh by James Allen. Off and on for many years, first thing in the morning I would open the book to a random page and read a random paragraph to begin the day’s self-reflection. Somehow every paragraph holds enough meaning for an lengthy contemplation session. Click here to download a free copy. I hope you find it as meaningful as I have.
